UK TOURING. On Friday I went to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac with The Girlfriend© – the premier Fleetwood Mac tribute band in all the land. Which went on to become their most successful album selling over 40 million copies worldwide. The audience was dancing on their feet and cheering for him. Such a talent! I am a Scotland based Australian with over 100 publications - humour (Defenestration) to horror (Murky Depths), mystery (FMAM) to mainstream (Underground Voices), and everything in between. I have seen them before and they were also excellent. After the intermission the hits kept on coming as ROFM took us through the entire catalogue, from familiar eighties tracks like Little Lies and Gypsy, dating back to their roots in the late sixties with songs like Black Magic Woman and Need Your Love So Bad… the latter of which turned out to be somewhat of an aphrodisiac for The Girlfriend©, so that was an unexpectedly sweet Friday night bonus. 24 talking about this. My favourite person without a doubt in the band was Allan Cosgrove who played on the drums as Mick Fleetwood. Don`t Stop, Everywhere and Go My Own Way had the crowd back to their feet once again, while Rhiannon - so beautifully performed by Harwood - gave them a breather before a monstrous Tusk, including Allan Cosgrove's Mick Fleetwood drum extravaganza brought down the curtain.
Highlights of the show for me included the electric guitar solos from Scott Poley. Even if this was my first time (and it wasn’t, as I had seen them many years ago with my sister) I would have known I was in for a treat as founding member Mick Fleetwood heartily endorsed them at the start of the show.
