In terms of the 6505 vs the Invective, the Invective would be better for metalcore since that's what's it's made for but is more 5150 based than 6505+ so comes down to preferred tone again, but I haven't played the Invective yet personally so can't fully compare the two.
The dirt channel screams, is throaty, but still really articulate surprisingly.

They're always a great compromise, case in point, this one is much more inviting and affordable than the 120w invective, but it's still that to me sadly. I've got a Boss MS3 and use the midi for channel switching a JVM, but the JVM has a normal midi cable.
