It's recently renovated and has the best thing of all - IMAX! I went to this movie theatre to watch the movie Parasite with my friends. New leather/vinyl rocker seating in all auditoriums, similar to the Ultra AVX seats! Comfortable seating and clean. 1st time coming here with friends the place is really nice an especially the booth for tickets from people, they're friendly an funny an SO unexpected :) depends what day that certain person works but you will have a bright smile.The stairs in the theatre are ment for midgets, i kept tripping cause they were soo dam short!
Good movies to watch and good food. At this location they give you a parking discount. I really like this Cinema, it's becoming my go to theatre. Would recommend this theatre if you're in the area but by far the best location downtown is Yonge Dundas Square. Love the IMAX and Ultra AVx screens out there and there is good decent crowd too. The Cons:The theatre is quite far if you are coming from the north and traffic getting to the theatre is quite heavy.
During the game play one of the VR balls came off the gun and knocked me out the game for 10 mins. I feel as though I just sat at a bad seat because all the other seats seemed stable. I used to attend a lot of screenings and half of the time, the escalators wouldn't work. My local Cineplex has maybe 7 flavours.
It's a very central location and there are tons of great restos in the area for you to enjoy after or before going to your movie (I for one am a huge fan of Hooters. I've never really rated my experience anywhere so low before so this is a first but I really didn't enjoy my movie experience at this cineplex branch. It shows all your major blockbusters on their regular screens, Ultra AVX screen, IMAX screen and has assigned seating for some theatres. However, I noticed a VR experience that they set up on the first floor- maybe they are trying to phase out the arcade? I used to go here every week for movies during highschool years. I suppose if you are unable to do stairs, it might become more a nightmare. I'm a happy movie fan. We frequented this back in the day when I went to school @ Ryerson. I highly recommend coming to Scotiabank Theatre for inclusive corporate events. Normally, I hate going to the movies.
